Starwood came.  Last Rangoli class on the schedule.

The folks that organize Starwood called me and wanted to go for a big rangoli.  They liked the way my 9/11 rangoli looked.  They also wanted me to coordinate with Jeff McBride.  Jeff's a stage magician, who headlines in Las Vegas and travels the world. I said Hell, yes, it's been ages since I worked with McBride and I always enjoyed working with my old friend.  Jeff called me and I send him the relevant urls, and we agreed to work together.

We met up, and he chose this pattern, as there were walking paths, and that would be good potential for staging.  I gave him a copy of the research paper on rangoli, told him about the history and purpose, and that intrigued him.

The little footprints are meant to represent the footprints of the deity.  A rangoli is created to be a transitory cathedral for a deity, a temporary physical space for the ineffable.  These divine footprints dance around the edge of the circle, just as people dance around the Brushwood bonfire every night.
